Hi, New Friend!

Every photography session should feel less like a rigid photo shoot and more like an engaging, joyful experience. As a former elementary school teacher turned "Mama" turned professional photographer, I blend educational expertise with creative passion to ensure your session is a seamless, stress-free success. My background in the classroom means I speak the universal language of fun, patience, and imagination!

BEHIND THE LENS
Since officially starting my business at the beginning of 2020, documenting families is the core of what KTP is all about. I know how crazy, wild, and beautiful life can feel with little ones. For me, getting to freeze time so you can soak your loved ones in again and again feels like the ultimate privilege. In my free time (ha!) I participate in a variety of geriatric hobbies including gardening, pickleball & mahjong. Teaching & attending group fitness classes, while also chasing my two boys, two dogs, & golden-retriever-husband around is the ultimate training program for this girl! It is the privilege of a lifetime being the queen in this energetic, boy-filled life I get to call mine. I can't wait to help you tell the story of your own kids while preserving them for a lifetime. Consider me a new friend along for your journey!

Budding Photographer?
I believe visual storytelling is a superpower. Alongside my professional photography services, I create hands-on, engaging photography resources on Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT). Whether you are a parent wanting to nurture your child’s creative eye or an educator looking for visual arts projects, my TPT content is designed to make learning the art of photography fun, accessible, and educational for kids.
SOME FUN THINGS
2025 was a huge year for me and some of the families I have worked with.
In the Fall, a Kate Todd Photography personality portrait was submitted to be featured in the 2025 Buddy Walk presentation in New York City, and guess what?! It got chosen! Finn's handsome smile lit up THE Times Square, contributing to the greater awareness and acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome. High five, Finn!
Additionally, one of my clients was featured in PEOPLE Magazine and used photos from our session in the article. Calvin and his parents are some of the strongest fighters I know. I am honored to be a small part of the awareness they are bringing to the rare genetic illness that Calvin was recently diagnosed with. Cheering you on every step of the way, Calvin!

How KTP
came to be
When I was in high school, I went on the trip of a lifetime to Costa Rica. Bringing along my point-and-shoot camera I documented two weeks worth of unparalleled adventure. Upon arriving home and printing my pictures, I was beyond disappointed in the quality, pixilation, and dullness of what had been the ultimate adventure. It was in this moment that I realized my memories deserved better. I deserved to be able to capture my moments with the same vibrancy, beauty, and emotions I felt while living them. The next weekend I went out and spent the remaining money I had saved for this trip on my first "fancy camera". I never looked back.
In college, I took photos for families as a hobby. Years later, while staying at home with our two boys, I made the choice to put teaching on the back burner and turn my hobby into a licensed business- something that was all my own! Since then I have taken photos for clients all over the country. Being a military family allows us to travel often, live in some surprising yet incredible places, and follow paths we didn't originally set out to go down. I wouldn't have it any other way!
